Malabo International Airport

The main international gateway, on the island of Bioko. Refurbished terminal built to international standards. Protocol reception for delegations.

Bata International Airport

The gateway to the mainland region, with an international terminal and domestic connections. Allow for an onward flight or road transfer.

GEM

FGMY · Mengomeyén

President Obiang Nguema International Airport

Serves Ciudad de la Paz and Mongomo. Handles international, domestic, private and charter operations.

Check the code before you book

SSG is Malabo and BSG is Bata. The two are easily confused, and the cities are separated by the Gulf of Guinea: booking the wrong code means an extra flight.

Documents to present

Passport and visa, yellow fever certificate, invitation letter and accommodation booking. Keep them to hand, not in your checked luggage.

Welcome

ICAN 2026 desk

A welcome desk operates at the airport throughout the arrival days. Delegations that have submitted the protocol form are expected by name.

Transfer

Official shuttles

Vehicles are assigned to the hotels in the official block. Delegations staying outside the block must arrange their own transfer.

CFA francs

Exchange bureaux and cash machines are available at Malabo airport. Have some cash from the moment you arrive for short journeys.
